325th Fighter Wing Headquarters
After Hurricane Michael destroyed most of Tyndall Air Force Base near Panama City, Florida, a large redevelopment project began. Included in this redevelopment was a focus on occupant well-being with more welcoming work places, walking paths, and generally a less "military" feel while still serving all of the requirements a military base has. Our design focuses on security, efficiency, occupant wellness, and a way to tell the extensive history of the 325fth fighter wing and Tyndall. Notable features include the welcoming atrium, great views out over the base and to the sea, an increased number of co-working spaces, and a very clear layout for easy movement throughout the building. As the project develops we want to focus on the utilization of perforated aluminum panels to protect the glazing from dangerous weather, and to help shade the interior more without sacrificing views.
